Even though Americans might be cribbing about losing jobs to Indians through outsourcing but a latest study has revealed that it’s benefiting US as they are netting at least $50 billion more through insourcing. America is also gaining by the fact that in terms of talent, immigrants comprise 12 to 26% of the workforce in key occupations and the country has been able to maintain a low 4.8% jobless rate.
As per Thomas Donohue, CEO & President, US Chamber of Commerce:
The world’s most open major economy is also the world’s most successful and envied economy, and that’s no accident. The free flow of trade, talent, and capital across our borders puts money and pay cheques directly into the hands of American workers, families, and small businesses. That is why we must never retreat behind the walls of fear and isolation no matter how tough the global competition becomes.
Even though some of the Americans have suffered due to global competition but the critics have wrongly blamed trade for the concerns which are facing average Americans.
