Are Indian call centers cultivating sexual habits among the youth? This seems to be what the Archbishop of Bangalore feels. He is worried by the fact that young people working during the night in call centers might be indulging in what he describes as ‘unsaintly bouts of sex and drug taking.’ A number of people believe that these youngsters are getting influenced by the Western culture.
Also media reporting about toilet drains in call centers getting blocked by condoms and incidence of drug taking have further added to the woes. We know that call centers in India have offered financial freedom to Indian youth at a very young age but to me it seems to be more of a gimmick.
Vicky, one of Bangalore’s call center employees said:
Everything is exaggerated by the media. In India, people still have respect for Indian values.
He is one of the guys who held back until he got married and certainly disagrees with the media report. I am with you too my friend!!
