Scope was never this big for Indian IT outsourcing service providers. The question is, are they ready for it? TPI, the mother of all outsourcing consultancies revealed on Thursday that the big six major will find their dominance challenged in the outsourcing deals that are coming in the next two years. TPI says, 50% of total outsourcing deals worth $100 million are going to be renewed in the couple of years and in the next six months out of total $17 billion deal India could get away with significant percentage.

According to TPI, 293 contracts were signed in 2005, more than in any other year. Of these 70 percent were small to medium sized contracts — worth $50 to $200 million — where Indian IT firms were invited to pitch for 30 percent of contracts and went on to win 70 percent of these.
