Remember, in 2003 HP had entered into a contract with Bank of Ireland for managing its technological needs for a period of seven years but now it has some other plans. It wants to give these jobs to India. This has sparked trouble between Bank of Ireland and its trade unions.

The Irish Bank Officials Association seems worried as this step could have a negative impact on the employees who in good faith moved to HP from Bank of Ireland and now the same jobs are in the process of being snatched from them.

HP is already planning to downsize its staff by 6,000 people in Europe as a part of its worldwide restructuring plan but this action of HP would have a severe repercussion on the industry and would snatch the livelihood of a number of people. On humanitarian and ethical grounds this action of HP is not justifiable.
