Many companies are looking at Philippines as their center for technical and help desk operations, as the English skills of people there is good. The most evident aspect is the transfer of other functions that are being transferred because of excellent language abilities and cheaper cost of labor.
Now comes the debate over medical transcription. Most view it as a similar work as those of call center. It is viewed as a service required by doctors with bad handwriting. The recording of a doctor is a raw form of data and needs to be converted into information. Here the need for a medical transcription arises, a medical transcriber converts these audio recording into textual form. An advantage that a medical transcriber has a compared to a call center employee is that there is no need for a graveyard shift as there is no customer interaction.
