Adding some more to the Air New Zealand outsourcing debate, Helen Clark, Prime Minister of New Zealand stated that she was optimistic that the outsourcing dispute would get resolved.

Air New Zealand wanted to control its cost by outsourcing its ground jobs but the union was against it as it believed that this decision would be disastrous for the employees. Already the union has put pressure on the ministers at the Labour’s conference by giving a directive to the airline to pull down its plans.

They also want the government to exert a greater control over the airline but Miss Clark stated that it was up to the unions to put forward their case to Air New Zealand. She stated that the work should be kept in house and both the parties should come out with a mutually acceptable decision.
