India is not responsible for the job loss rather it’s the worldwide automation of tasks which send offshorable IT jobs low cost locations like India. A study by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) reveals the notion. OECD on its survey on “The share of employment potentially affected by offshoring - an empirical investigation” further found out that in the areas of IT, accounting, consulting, financial services and research and development one in five jobs could be hit by the continuous growth of offshore outsourcing.
The report said: “In the long run the positive benefits of services offshoring outweigh the costs, even though the adjustment process may occasionally be difficult in the short run.”
