India and Philippines cannot rest on their laurels as other Asian countries are gearing up to snatch a share in the global outsourcing business. A latest report from neoIT has stated that countries such as China and other Asian Pacific countries are trying to position themselves as attractive outsourcing destinations.

Here is a quote from the study:

Companies have “moved beyond India” and the Philippines into not so well-known cities in the world since companies want to create a “global footprint.’

Other countries are trying to attract work on the basis of the specific language skills required. China is very much interested in overtaking India in this trade and even countries like Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Pakistan, Vietnam and Thailand are trying to emerge as an alternative attractive outsourcing destinations.

The time has come when the outsourcing leaders should pull up their socks otherwise very soon they would get toppled from their position.
