Philippines is all set to give other outsourcing destinations a run for their money. Its summer capital, Baguio City has pumped in more than thirty million dollars in order to make a digital fiber optic network which connects the whole of the city to a ten gigabit per second data pipe.



A big unnamed US outsourcing firm is already toying with the idea of moving their call center operations to Baguio City and as of now call center firm ClientLogic and semiconductor firm Texas Instruments are availing the benefits of faster data pipe in the city. Now a number of outsourcing companies are treating this city as a potential destination for their business.



Even though this is being treated as a gamble, but with a good English speaking population and improving infrastructure Philippines is all set to become a preferred destination for outsourcing. Can I already hear the death bells ringing for other hot destinations for outsourcing in Asia pacific region?
