Philippines has been seeing a rapid growth in outsourced services and the government after having sensed its potential is asking the private sector to help in drafting master plan so that the country could become competitive in BPO and call center operations. The master plan would evolve from strategic planning session of leaders and experts in the field of information and communications technology.



The growth can be sensed from the fact that the country started with four call centers and just two thousand employees in 2003 but now the country boasts of more than hundred call centers and two lac employees. Due to government’s foresight Philippines call center industry has grown into a $2-billion industry in a relatively short period of time.



Certainly Philippines spell danger for countries like India which are considered to be the hub of the outsourcing.
