Privacy and Legal Outsourcing
Legal outsourcing might not be a common in Canada as of now but concerns are being raised regarding privacy issues if it becomes prevalent. This is what Sergio Karas, Toronto immigration lawyer had to say: I think it’s something that we need to really be on guard against, that certainly will give rise to a lot of problems if it happens on a more widespread basis Up till now work of mechanical nature was delegated to third parties like legal process servers and court filing agents but now a number of firms in U.S. are outsourcing tasks such as research and financial disclosure and other things to people who are not subject to the laws of the country. This could create problems as the forms that would be prepared might be misrepresented. There could also be serious implications with regards to privacy legislation. Up till now it is not a problem as it is in its nascent stages but in the future problems could arise.
