India proposes to amend the Factories Act in order to make it obligatory for woman employees to work during night shifts but Shantha Raju, G.S., All -India Bank Officers’ Confederation believes that this step would be detrimental towards the interest of women. He termed this step against the spirit of labor reforms. This step might result in the bank employees launching a number of agitations so that their demands are met.



We are already aware that woman out here in India are working in call centers at night. Before this women out here had never worked during night. I would agree with Shantha Raju as the proposed amendment might cause exploitation of women as different industries have different requirements.
