Telecom equipment supplier SR Telecom is about to eliminate not less than 70 jobs as the it plans to outsource its manufacturing operations. The Montreal based company presently employs about 87 employees in the core manufacturing operations.



Some believe the plan is made to enhance its competitiveness in the market. S R Telecom in the last one year has dwindled in the stock market and lost 70% of its value. Last December the company has been delisted from Nasdaq. S R Telecom now hopes by sending manufacturing operations to third party operators it would be enable to focus on its core areas like designing, developing and deploying of advanced wireless technologies.
