There seems to be a trend developing in the Indian BPO industry. The bigger BPO companies in India are letting small BPO companies to get work. This is being done as bigger companies are interested in offloading their data entry and seasonal work to smaller players. Realizing this a number of small companies have come in the outskirts of BPO towns such as Chennai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad and Noida.
This is with regards to the low end work which involves conversion of content from paper to digital or even pure data entry. The smaller BPOs can help the bigger BPOs with manpower when required and also provide them with more complex training. It has been seen that since outsourcing in publishing industry is not stable therefore it would be better if this work was outsourced to smaller vendors when a project comes up.
This would be beneficial to both the parties as the bigger firm would be able to utilize the services of smaller BPOs when the need arises and smaller BPOs would get work as companies would not be willing to give work to smaller companies in a direct manner.
