Tribune, one of the known newspapers of the world is slashing around two hundred and fifty jobs at its call centers so that it could outsource the operations to Philippines. This has obviously been done in order to save costs. Calls regarding circulation and delivery would be shifted to APAC Customer Services which has operations in Philippines.

As a result of this shifting, 120 full time and 130 part time jobs would be axed. This is being done primary because of two reasons, firstly it would improve customer service for the readers and secondly it would make their newspaper quite cost efficient.

I was just wondering what would be done regarding the employees who would be axed. Outsourcing at the expense of employees, is it correct?
