As per a study conducted by Pratt School of Engineering Research, a sharp rise is being witnessed in offshoring of US engineering jobs to countries such as China and India. The study named Industry Trends in Engineering Offshoring counters the view that the number of engineering graduates passing out from India and China were twelve times that of the U.S numbers.
Under the survey 78 senior executives of big US firms were interviewed and 75% of the firms stated that India had a substantial supply of engineers which was higher than U.S and China combined.
With India having such a big pool of talent certainly it makes sense for these companies to outsource their jobs to India as they would be able to get it done at competitive prices.
